Reading an offer before you claim it
A casino bonus is a loan of playing capital with a condition attached, and the condition is where the value lives or dies. The condition is normally expressed as a multiplier — 20x, 35x, 50x — applied either to the bonus alone or to the deposit plus the bonus. That distinction is not cosmetic: a £100 bonus at 35x on bonus only requires £3,500 of turnover, while the same multiplier on deposit plus bonus requires £7,000. Two offers that look identical in an advert can therefore differ by a factor of two in what they actually ask of you. The second variable is game weighting. Slots usually count at 100 per cent, but table games are commonly discounted to 10 per cent or excluded entirely, which means clearing a bonus at the roulette table can require ten times the stated turnover. The third is the maximum stake permitted while a bonus is live, typically between £2 and £5 per spin; breach it once and most operators are entitled to void the balance. The fourth is the expiry window, which usually begins the moment the bonus is credited rather than the moment you first use it.
